MailMergeExt is an advanced add-in for Microsoft Word that extends the standard mail merge capabilities by allowing you to send personalized emails with unique attachments directly from Word, powered by Excel data, using your Outlook account.
It’s ideal for administrative, legal, financial, educational, and commercial teams that need to automate repetitive email tasks and ensure each recipient gets tailored documents.

Installing MailMergeExt is straightforward:

1. Download the installer from your account on our website under “My Downloads”.

2. Run the .vsto installer. This will integrate the add-in into Microsoft Word automatically.

3. Open Word and you’ll see a new “MailMergeExt” tab.

If you encounter any security prompts from Windows or Office, approve them — our installer is digitally signed for safety.

Once installed, when you launch Word, you’ll be prompted to enter your activation code.

1. Copy the activation code from your purchase confirmation email or your account dashboard.

2. Paste it into the activation form in Word and click Validate.

3. Once validated, the add-in is fully unlocked on that machine.

If you have a Team License, you can repeat this process on up to 5 machines.

Our licensing system is designed to bind your license to the unique hardware of your computer.

This means that once activated, your license cannot be moved automatically to another device.

If you change computers or replace significant hardware, please contact us at support@mailmergeext.com. We’ll verify your purchase and assist with resetting your license so you can activate it on the new machine.

MailMergeExt allows you to send multiple unique attachments per recipient, configured in your Excel file — only limited by Outlook’s attachment size or count restrictions. Each row in Excel corresponds to a recipient and can have its own specific combination of attachments.

MailMergeExt supports:

• Microsoft Word 2016, 2019, 2021, and Office 365 (32-bit or 64-bit)

• Microsoft Outlook 2016, 2019, 2021, and Office 365

• Windows 10 and Windows 11

Earlier versions or non-Windows operating systems are not supported.

Absolutely. MailMergeExt uses your local Outlook client to send emails, which means:

• Your credentials never leave your computer.

• Emails are sent through your existing Outlook profile, maintaining your usual send limits and security.

We never store or transmit your Outlook credentials.

Regular mail merge in Word allows basic email personalization, but does not support individual attachments per recipient.

No. Emails sent by MailMergeExt look like any other emails you send from Outlook.
Your recipients won’t see anything different — it’s fully transparent and uses your existing signature and sender details.
